Art Nude Photography – a studio workshop

Keen to shoot art nude, but don’t know where to start? Just want to refine your technique or learn some alternative approaches? Join us for this class – working with a top model in a small group, you will learn about direction and lighting for nudes.

  • Experience: You should have some experience of studio photography – this is not an introductory studio class.
  • Gear: Your camera should be capable of operating studio flash equipment via either a hotshoe trigger or a sync cable connected to a PC socket. A lens covering approximately 24-70mm on a full frame dSLR (or 18-55mm on a crop body) is the minimum requirement.

  • The class will run from 10am – 4:30pm (with approximately a 1 hour break for lunch).
  • 4-6 participants.
  • Price £235 (including VAT)
  • Beverages and buffet lunch included

We also offer a shorter “taster” art nude photography class for those looking to dip their toes into the water.

Ian Coyle - art nude photography taster class

On the 5th of May 2011 I took part in a small studio workshop run by Barrie with the model Ivory Flame who was visiting Scotland. Barrie gave me tips on studio photography, lighting setups etc while Ivory Flame was very patient while the two novices taking part in the workshop got to grips with the technical side. It was an excellent day and I would highly recommend Barrie should he be offering any more such workshops.
