Art Nude Photography — a studio class

Keen to shoot art nude, but don’t know where to start? Just want to refine your tech­nique or learn some altern­at­ive approaches? Join us for this class — work­ing with a top model in a small group, you will learn about dir­ec­tion and light­ing for nudes.

Require­ments:
  • Exper­i­ence: You should have some exper­i­ence of stu­dio pho­to­graphy — this is not an intro­duct­ory stu­dio class.
  • Gear: Your cam­era should be cap­able of oper­at­ing stu­dio flash equip­ment via either a hot­shoe trig­ger or a sync cable con­nec­ted to a PC socket. A lens cov­er­ing approx­im­ately 24-70mm on a full frame dSLR (or 18-55mm on a crop body) is the min­imum requirement.

  • The class will run from 10am — 5pm (with approx­im­ately a 1 hour break for lunch).
  • 4–6 par­ti­cipants.

On the 5th of May 2011 I took part in a small stu­dio work­shop run by Bar­rie with the model Ivory Flame who was vis­it­ing Scot­land. Bar­rie gave me tips on stu­dio pho­to­graphy, light­ing setups etc while Ivory Flame was very patient while the two novices tak­ing part in the work­shop got to grips with the tech­nical side.
